OPERATION SINDOOR- THOUGHTS BEFORE AND AFTER

Operation Sindoor – A Micro Perspective

Every war creates a random shift in the combat technologies. Role of newly inducted force multipliers may be rendered either a success or a failure.  From decoys of analogue era, the nuisance of swarm waves of Drones and UAVs  took the central stag ,  enough to cripple and paralyse the Air Defence Systems. India created a new combat strategy in Aerial Warfare Kinetics , that effectively immobilise a powerful enemy. Threat perceptions of nuclear attack was razed down to a ‘bluff” in the split of second.  Operation Sindoor, was display of  the ferocious outburst of the  moral strength of India against the gruesome terrorist attack on the sanctity of Vermilion adored on  the forehead of the Hindu Women. Twenty seven women were widowed, for their husbands were not well versed to Verses of Islamic Holy Book – the terror unleashed by a theocentric country on the people who naturally prefer to live as politically secular.

Vermillion – the Sindoor is wiped off by the widow when the breath of her husband stops.  Like a wild fire the red colour spread across the  Foreheads of 27  Daughters of India.

It was recap of the horrific days of "Batta Mazar" and the agonies to “Pot Maharazas” perhaps not heard by the new generation mainstream India.   India lived with distress and pain of Girija Tickoo and Sarla Bhat, the new wounds along with the  unhealed scars several hundred of women tortured and killed.

Pahalgam attack  targeted 26 -  a reminder of  the 26 foreign Nationals killed in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.  The political system in power during Mumbai attacks , suppressed the sentiments of  the country and had to helplessly listen to a weeping leadership  with no strength to deal with the situation as a powerful nation, instead  stepped into diplomatic means.

From 07 May 2025, In three days,  when the Operations Concluded, the Pakistan with their  strategic partners unleashed a massive campaign to evade their market collapse  and technological pride,

A glance through the observations of a month would be another side of the whole development.

Hit at the Launch. Do not wait for crossing Indian Air Space.

A country without own Satellite Navigation System will create Disaster to other Countries , missing target midway ...

In the open - unmasked ?

From Mujahideen to the multiple terror operatives across the border and home trained modules in various pockets of India , now beyond any doubt, are proven to be regulars and in the payrolls of the Pak Army.

Pakistan Army Shouldering the coffins wrapped in their National flag were not the civilians who contributed to the art, culture or economic growth of that country or were not who earned international recognitions or honours.

After some of the Ministers of Pakistan has admitted that they were involved in creating and promoting Terrorism, right from the days of Cold war, the cremation of terrorists with state and military honours is an open challenge to New Delhi. Indian Media failed to read beyond the lines. Only Sky News had put questions straight , rest of the European and American Media were raising a question on the credibility of the attack, framing as " Claim" of India as terrorist targets. The same media had projected the Pahalgam terror attack reducing the gravity and intensity as shoot out and militants.

The same was with the media in India and the political parties as attack on Tourists ! Some even questioned the cries of the widows who saw their husbands fall prey to the bullets of hatred to the extent of unzipping them to check their religious identity. " Mang Ujaad diya " - the vermillion on their foreheads, sign of a lucky in wedlock was more than smothered away . The shattered sounds of their broken bangles clinging in the green lawns were unheard. Yet the consciousness of the hardcore power greedy mindset, determined to oudt Narendra Modi right from the beginning, did not waist this opportunity as well. Questions were raised on the security failure, same as that of the utterances on Pulwama incident. It gave enough savage for the scavengers to peddle through.

The Government loose the focus when frivolous questions are raised from responsible establishments in politics. It leads to certain premature and untimely actions. Yet the Security apparatuses of the country and the government could maintain restraint and take enough time to strike back asserting the deep penetration prowess.

We have lessons from Iran - Iraq War, Arab Israel war, Gulf war I and II, Russian - Ukraine War and Hamas - Israel - Houthi Wars which were concise , decisive, protracted and indecisive in nature.

Russia a Super Power with non nuclear weapons of high destructive power could not end the Ukraine War in a couple of days, is wriggling for nearly 12 years. Ukraine on the other hand gets enough time to converge all Countries opposed to Russia to be supportive and to raise finances and Weaponry. Prolonged and indecisive wars are costly for the bigger nations as the smaller nations learn to exploit the incapacitations.

When Pakistan engaged Indian troops to artillery firing, Operation Sindoor 1 has not ended. They are retaliating. A soldier and nearly a score of Citizens again' has lost their lives. It is not a wait and watch situation. The strategy of Combat had to be redesigned. When they shell artillery in the Akhnoor - Bhimber Section, remember October 1947, beginning of the Revanchist policy of Jinnah who could not wrest Kashmir through political measures.

Between October 21-22 of 1947, Jinnah had planned to abduct the Maharaja of Kashmir who was supposed to rest at Bhimber Guest House. The Pakistani Army went on rampage killing Hindus and burning Hindu Villages. Those who could run away escaped and the helpless old , pregnant and sick became victims.

When Pakistani forces use Bhimber as a platform to launch offensive against India, the Government of India and the Media of India will have to read the warning and message conveyed. It is the move to fulfill the Juglar Vein Theory of Jinnah. After Seven decades , when an Army Chief uses the same Jugular Vein as a signal to start the offensive , it is should have been right track for the National Security Machinery to read it aloud and Act and finish the fever for the Vale of Kashmir for ever.

Today   Nehru and Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah  are not alive to silently share Kashmir. It took five years for Nehru, to hear with his own ears the words of his country cousin Sheikh Abdullah to put an end to their honeymoon. Lal Bahadur Shastri became a victim of political design to go by the UN Security Council Resolution. Indira Gandhi salvaged the 1971 position through a negotiation Heathrow airport with ZA Bhutto.

Now India has no limitations. It is for the political system to find explanation to as and why terrorist activities became alive immediately as the country was into election mode in 2024.Was there a strong political design to overthrow Narendra Modi ?

India should not commit the Mistake again...

9th May 2025

Escalated way back.

India did not kill any civilians inside Pakistan Territory. In 2002 Akshardham attack of Ahmedabad was the first major operation Narendra Modi had to carry out as the Chief Minister of Gujarat was the Ahmedabad Akshardham Temple attack.

If we start with 1996 Lajpat Nagar to Pahalgam, terror breeding factories of Pakistan has taken more than 1300 lives. Those who were critically injured and later succumbed to injuries and those crippled and lost ways and means of life of to be taken into account , the numbers will open our eyes and mouths wide... On an average if a person lost life in the war, had seven dependents, nearly 9000 people were directly affected. Collateral damages if added it will be more than that of a declared War.

By 2010, A generation of Kashmiri Youth grew up in the social insecurity and fear complexes. More than that a hostile mindset was created and had the same parallels as infused in Pakistani youth in the Madrasas. By 2007-' 08 these youth started throwing stones at Army personnel and convoys. What did India do in the next five years to create a change in the Kashmiri Youth?

At a time when the youth got a new lease of life, turning into entrepreneurship, Pakistan realised that they are loosing their control, a new strategy of war was again unleashed to deprive them of a major chunk of their livelihood.

Pahalgam War of Terror was a beginning. It was diagnosed correctly.

They penetrated inside the country, created inroads, lived here without identity crisis and waged war within the country.

Now , past three days, they have been inflicting damages and injury to the people of the country on all counts.

The term " Escalation" has to be eliminated from the considerations. Crossing above 1300 lives is far more than " Escalation" .

The gravity and depth of damage and the value the Government attributes to the life of each and every citizen is what matters . It cannot assessed by the watchdogs of peace and military strategies and international regulators of trade and commerce. It is all about drawing a conclusion and putting an end to what perpetrators of the crime began on 16th August 1946 onwards.

The liberals and leftists, urban leftist extremist ideologists and groups should put an end to their cries and campaigns as India took matters to a confrontation and war. Already Pakistan was waging War inside India for the past 25 years. Our political leadership underplayed and politically covered it for nearly 10 years from 1999 leading to Kargil War. Attack on the Parliament was to be taken as total violation of Ceasefire Agreement, Shimla Agreement and LoC and LoAC.

There is a Tukada - Tukada and Cutting brigade along with the projection for 2047 , to translate the vision of Choudhary Rahmat Ali into a reality. Pahalgam was the transcript of the Jugular Vein Theory of Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Kashmir. He asked his Doctor, 'Will anyone give the Jugular Vein under the armpit of the Enemy.' ? It was repeated by the Present Army Chief of Pakistan to unleash a new wave attack inside India.

Mehabooba Mufti should Rescind from her statement on the Going Operation Against Terror. Forgot what happened when her sister was kidnapped?...

Once a terrorist or a Projectile from Pakistan damages Indian Territory, LoC and LoAC naturally becomes Void and will have to be redrawn.

Manohar Parikkar , the then Defence Minister deserves a salute for the determination to procure S 400 Aerial Defence Systems. He loved to do that ....

Partisan Reporting :

Any agency Publicizing unconfirmed reports on India should be given a better suit than what White House has done.

When Change of Name of American Gulf was not considered , White House denied Reuters, Associated Press (AP) and a few TV Channels access to White House Coverages..

Straying off - Astray....

Defence Ministry may issue structures to TV Channels and Web News casters to stop screaming and yelling on War developments. No TV Channel can claim that they have access to information and make such statements like their correspondent are in touch with top brass of the Military.

Any information furnished on Networks should be authenticated. The reason for the situation is the bureaucratic presentation style of Doordarshan, more focussed on the statement of Ministers and officials on matters other than ground situations.

In 1965 and 1971 the country relied on All India Radio Alone. Doordarshan News DDGs may have not been born then. Yet they can look at the files and see the style of Reporting. Harish Awasthi gave the first report on War was a class of its own style.

Live coverage of Aerial Defence Systems and location identity , distance from the spot of reporting to the landing area of projectiles all will help the enemy in target correction and better acquisition. Narrative on the nature of projectile the country is using, warhead and inventory we have are not to be disclosed by former Military personnel in discussions. It is a shock to see why they appear on TV channels during a war and open their mouths too wide!

There is a massive difference between Israel - Hamas War, Gulf war I and II and Russia -Ukraine Wars and India Pakistan War die to Territorial and strategic reasons . If our media do not learn from the consequences of live coverage Kargil War and counter offensive in Bombay Terror Attack, we are going wrong. How far the live news casts immediately after the Pulwama Terror attack had dealt on the combining up operations and counter offensive measures helped the terrorists to take safer route to escape needs a detailed analysis. Social Media handles are to be assessed together with the telecast by local and mainland based Channels. Some of TV Channels are airing views of so called intellectuals against the Government , indirectly, expressing their urge for peace and seeing Humanity as one and of the kind.

TV Channels should not create their own Code names for the Defence Operations, or give numbers as they like

Bureautician ?

Bureaucrat getting political fixtures , Bureauticians are disasters in Democratic form of Governments.

Long before, a senior bureaucrat of a State called to meet urgently. He had retired a few weeks back.

Over a cup of tea, after talking some personal matters he asked a question.

" Should I join Politics?"...

It has become a very bad trend India for Military Chiefs, Intelligence officials, Judges and bureaucrats to step into either politics or political posts after retirement or VRS.

What is Wrong?

Bureaucracy is to deliver goods and services to the public as administrators. After much experience in serving people at the elementary levels, they reach the second level as Directors or in some boards, secretaries to Ministers, Under Secretary, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretaries and Secretaries. By the time they reach the level of Joint Secretary, the most powerful and assertive position in Government, where their nothing become decision making markers, they have enough faculties to draw and draft administrative and executive orders on policy matters and Bills. Chief Secretary of a State and Joint Secretary of Union Government have almost equal status, so is the secretary of the Union and a Member of Parliament. A cabinet Minister of the Union Government is more or less equivalent to the Chief Minister of a State.

But all these gradings are subject to the Order of Precedence of the Union Government which is modified from time to time. It has to be followed when the Prime Minister or the President of India or the Governor of a State attends a public function or a ceremony. Of State.

Where does a Bureaucrat fit into the Political system?

For nearly thirty years, bureaucrats stood servient or Subservient to the political system. Political leaders when they become ministers are supposed to know the policies to be framed as per the manifesto and assurances made to the people. They are to dictate the framework of the policies to their secretaries and then vet the drafting as per the situations demand. Inexperienced politicians who have no track record of even drafting a letter to a local body chairman, when they are elected straight to the state and Union legislatures , or even become Ministers of State, they will be fully dependent on the bureaucrats. Unfortunate Part is that some of the Cabinet Ministers adrees their secretaries as Sir!

In such a political environment, or as the new adoption Political Ecosystem, anyone is fit into the shoes of the Council of Ministers of the Union or the state , that too when their electoral gains set a new political trend. India had only one politician who had the absolute majority of the electorate to head a government - that was Ramvilas Paswan.

After drawing much contrasts, I could give the answer ' No to any bureaucrat getting admitted to the Legislatures either of the state or the Union, by way of mandate or indirect means of nomination. Their decisions can never be political; their language can never have the strength and gravity. The strength of a politician is the mandate of the people by the good work. Even if the party expel , the will of the people is the confidence and is sure that he will return with a thumping majority as an Independent member. The language, the power and strength of the voice, sharpness, Focus on the issues, method of dealing and handling, behaviour in Public, maintaining the decorum of the Legislative Assembly or Parliament are all dependent on the faculties accrued through public service and servitude.

Past two weeks during the conflict period, the matters if read properly, without taking names it would be clear where the matters had gone wrong.

There is at least one Agreement that speaks volumes of incongruence and ineptness if political matters are handled by nonpolitical entrants in government. Such Agreements can invite discords.

Now, the country waits for the Ceasefire Agreement with Pakistan. Who was the Laila in the present game?

Before Negotiating....

India should not fall into the grip of frivolous negotiations every time as and when Pakistan gets depleted of its fire power or cannot sustain a war for their own reasons. Whenever such a situation arises, their trusted provider and ally US will step into their rescue. Quite visibly, it would be a turn of events for the Whitehouse to settle their score with China and Soviet Union, now Russia. China has their huge investments including nuclear reactors and power generation. Pakistan is their nuclear laboratory and India will not desist to freeze their repeated threatening of “Dirty Nuclear Bombs”. US Presidents have downgraded their political cult to the extent to request the Soviets to ensure that the Western Frontier remains unaffected in the 1971 War. How Yahya Khan mediated with Mao and Chou en Lai in the secret mission of Henry Kissinger.

For an average Indian citizen, this is the last opportunity for India to take back Illegally Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Deposing that trust and faith in Narendra Modi the entire people of the Country stands with him. It would be his own decision to suffer a few losses and save the country from the menace of the Revanchist Ambitions of Pakistan.

The US is realizing that their potential ally in South East Asia and the Transit corridor to China will be reduced to less than half, inviting a huge setback to their trade and commercial and Strategic positioning in the region. They would be bent on to do anything and even may reach an understanding with Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping and will enter into a political diplomacy with New Delhi,

Whatever the situation may be, Narendra Modi should stand firm and live up to the expectations of his countrymen. The advisories and adversaries to the conflict or the escalation to a War, should look at the background of the whole issue. It is a decision on the stability and the economic growth of India.

India cannot afford to cling on to security conflicts and be a silent spectator of an arms race in the region. India has to emerge as a power to contain the region from the arms race and should ensure that the neighbourhood does not become a dump yard of obsolete weaponry that would become an irritant and challenge later on. Towards this South block and 7, LKM has to set the records straight, removing the debris of colonial improprieties and political oversight of over six decades.

The British had to insulate Sino Russian transit from the eyes of the Transitory Government of India, basking in the nonviolence of Mahatma Gandhi. Resignation of the Congress Government of NWFP was the first success for Great Britain and their ally US for countering the advances of Soviets in the Eastern corridor. Mountbatten could do the task keeping Nehru within his ring, not even letting Sardar Patel or anyone to get ample time to realize the situation. Administrative intervention of the British Government in the Reforms of Kashmir during Maharaja Pratap Singh, if looked meticulously, impairments in the political history of India on account of Anglo- Sino- Russian conflict would have been visible to the political leaders of India. Again, this is an indicator that the British knew how to keep Indian leaders busy with their own internal conflicts. At the same time, the Muslim League was nurtured and given a free hand to keep the Western and Eastern Frontiers within their fold. India was to be meant only as the mainland with Hindu Provinces disrupted with the green patches of Muslim dominated Circle Areas added to their religious State. The Poona Pact was in letter and spirit meant to disintegrate the Upper Caste Hindus from the Scheduled castes and tribes together with Muslim majority. The only threat to the British design was Subhash Chandra Bose who was with Stalin around the time. Clement Atlee had to whisper in the ears of Mountbatten to keep Gilgit –Baltistan out of the Kashmir Maharaja and to reconsider the revocation of the lease. Mountbatten wisely took the matters out of New Delhi and shifted Kashmir Affairs to Lahore and Karachi. He had the right explanation that all communication lines were routed through Peshawar.

In the year 1928, the Chinese Chin-Shu-Jen administration of Sinkiang province started developing some serious apprehensions regarding its conventional enemy the British. The Chinese suspected that the British would capitalize on the Muslim discontent in Kashgar for their ulterior motives thereby dismantling the authority of Peking. Expecting an invasion from the British side, in the year 1929, the Chinese government dispatched a contingent of 700 soldiers to the main Karakoram watershed up to the Yarkand and Karakash rivers. A permanent post was set up at Shahidulla, the same place just across the Karakoram pass where Maharaja Ranbir Singh had also stationed a garrison in the year 1864.

In Hunza too the British felt their position being challenged. The Chief official of the Kashgar town Tao-yin Ma Shao Wu told the representatives of the Mir of Hunza that if Hunza men accepted themselves to be Chinese citizens, only then they would be allowed to cultivate their lands in Raskam. Shao Wu claimed that the Mir had no rights over the lands for any activity including cultivation or revenue.

These developments taking place in the Sinkiang province of China adjacent to the Northern Frontier made the British Government watchful regarding its security concerns. First, there was much evidence to suggest that there were disturbing contacts between Moscow and the Sinkiang Governor Sheng Shit Ts’ai. Joseph Stalin had granted financial assistance to the Sinkiang Government in 1935. Soviets gained rights for oil and mineral exploration in Sinkiang, with the assurance for military support as and when Sinkiang Government needs. Sinkiang, as it became a protectorate of the Soviet Union, the British expected that the next step would be the taking over of Turkistan.

By the middle of 1935, London realized that Moscow was in full control of Sinkiang. The British Empire of India feared the Soviet infiltration to spread communist ideals and literature that would threaten the position of Northern Ladakh. The British were facing issues with the control of Gilgit Baltistan with the take over of the reins of Kashmir by Hari Singh in 1926. Hari Singh had served Maharaja Pratap Singh as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and was of the view to make a change in the policy approach on Gilgit –Baltistan. The Young Maharaja asserted his position in the region and was moving ahead with his plans to merge the region with his Province of Jammu and Kashmir. He raised objections to British Supremacy and ordered the hoisting of the state flag along with the Union flag. He declared Gilgit Region as his territory. He went ahead further to abolish Gilgit as a British Agency .

This paid well for their future nuclear programme. Already the mainstream political leaders of India were aware of the encounter of the Russian military during the expedition of Captain Younghusband. The political leadership in India could not question the British Indian Government as they stopped Maharaja Ranbir Singh of Kashmir from his expeditions to China. Ranbir Singh saw the future conflicts that his kingdom will face with the British Policy allowing China to take over Karakonam Ranges forming a frontier between India and Russia. The new policy was not in tally with the 1759 demarcation of India China border with the Qianlong contingent after their conquest of Turkestan.

The Kashmir ruler was confronted with the security concerns after the Russians seized over a large part of Kashmir along with the Pamir ranges of the Chinese border and Tijik Region of Afghanistan. Russian advances were put to hold in 1891, with the use of force by the British. This military action decided the borders of India with Afghanistan – Russia and China. Chitral, Nagar and Hunza became a part of British India. In 1938, Soviets closed Khunera Mountain Pass. Ladakh Region became disconnected from Sinkiang and thus the trade route through Karakoram Pass also became cut off.

Negotiations with Pakistan on POK should be based on the boundaries of the Gilgit Agency as in the ‘ Military report of 1909 on the Gilgit Agency and the Independent territories of Tangir and Darel:-

“On the north is the Hindu Kush, separating Ishkuman and Yasin from Wakhan, and on the north east in continuation of the Hindu Kush are-the Mustagh mountains, which divide Hunza and Nagir from the Chinese New Dominions. On the east lies the Skardu District of Kashmir. On the west is the Shandur Range which divides the Gilgit Agency from the Chitral Districts of Dir and Swat. The southern boundaries are the Burzil Pass on the east, separating the Astor Tahsil of Gilgit from Kashmir, and the ‘ Babusar Pass, by which communication with the Punjab is maintained arid the Kaghan Valley, while in the Indus Valley the boundary is coterminous with that of Northern Kohistan, Kandia and Dir.”

The exact boundary line may be thus traced :

“Starting from the Palesar Pass on the west, it runs in a northwesterly direction from the Dadrel Pass to the Shandur Pass, following the range of that name to its junction with the Hindu Kush, east of the source of the Yarkhun River. From here it follows the crest of the Hindu Kush to a point about five miles south-west of the Kilik Pass ; from this point it turns north-west past the Wakhjir Pass and then, circling round the western vend of the Taghdumbash Pamir, follows the northern watershed of the latter till it reaches the Peak Povalo' Shveikovski, the meeting point of Afghanistan with the three empires of India, Russia and China. Leaving Peak Povalo Shveikovski the line descends in a south-easterly direction to the bed of the Karachukar stream, crossing which near Mintaka Aksai it continues in the same direction till it gains the crest of the Mustagh Range at a point about seven miles east of the Karachenai Pass. It then follows this crest-line east and south-east to a point some six miles south-west of the Oprang Pass ; here the watershed is left abruptly and the line runs due east-for about five miles and then south-east till it strikes the Mustagh, or Oprang, River at Kuram Jilga ; it then follows the course of this river to a point some five miles above the junc tion of the stream from the Shingshal Pass when ascending the nearest high spur to the west it regains the crest of the Mustagh Range about 25 miles south-south-east of the Shing shal Pass. From the point where the line first touches the crest of the Hindu Kush, east of the source of the Yarkhun River, to Povalo Shveikovski‘the boundary of the Gilgit Agency thus coincides with the Indo-Afghan frontier, while from Peak Povalo Shveikovski onwards it is identical with the Indo-Chinese frontier up to the point where it regains the crest of the Mus tagh Range south-south-east of the Shingshal Pass. Here it leaves the Indo-Chinese frontier and turns south and west along the border of Baltistan to Hispar, south to Barungdoi on the Indus, following the course of that river to Bunji, south to the Burzil and Kamri Passes, and north old the Kamri Dara to its junction with the Rupal River. Thence it runs west to the Babusar and Zure Passes, north to the Pushkari Pass, west to Jalkot in Kohistan, north along the watershed to the Lahtar River, west by the undefined northern boundary of the Kandia Valley, and finally links up m'd the Paloga Pass with the Palesar Pass.”

The Parliament of United Kingdom had adopted a motion that asserts the Position of Kashmir King, "Gilgit-Baltistan is a legal and constitutional part of the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India, which is illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947, and where people are denied their fundamental rights including the right of freedom of expression". Despite all the legal and territorial rights of India over the region, Pakistan went ahead with the illegal construction of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, This move was also decried by the UK Parliament. New Delhi kept cold feet towards the actions of Pakistan. With the Act of 1970 Promulgated by Yahya Khan, the Karachi Agreement of 1948 has become a dead document.

The demand of the Government of the POK to return the Gilgit Baltistan Areas was ignored by the Pakistan Government. The verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan was also turned down by the military regime. The Assembly of POK passed a resolution in 1972 to return the Northern areas comprising Gilgit Baltistan. To overcome this, a Presidential order was issued by mid-1972,that abolished the hereditary laws of Jagirdari in the Region and created Administrative Districts under Deputy Commissioners. This totally changed the situation and State Subject law promulgated by the Maharaja of Kashmir was removed.

The right of the indigenous People over the land was removed and the natural resources became nationalized. This led to large scale migrations from elsewhere. India, after the 1971 War had seemingly lost showing any interest in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, This gave enough fuel from ZA Bhutto to enact Northern Areas Legal Framework Order bringing the region under Penal Code of Pakistan. Further Bhutto abolished the Northern Areas Advisory Council and constituted the Northern Area Council without any legislative and executive Powers. The confidence of Pakistan over asserting the control of POK was growing high. Gen. Zial ul Haq went a step ahead categorizing the Region under martial law Zone E, and brought it under the control of Pakistan as a natural part of Pakistan. Zia lifted the colour of the disputed zone. He was a strong advocate of Deobandi School and implemented Sipah e Sabha Pakistan in the region.

However, India showed no sign of support to the demand to treat POK as a part of Jammu and Kashmir placed by Azad Muslim Conference, Azad Kashmir’s Peoples party, All J&K Muslim Conference and J K Mahaze Rai Shumari. Instead of listening to their demand, Pakistan went ahead with the formation of the Northern Areas Legislative Council in 1998.

How the Present Government and the Ministry of External Affairs would formulate the organisation structure of Gilgit-Baltistan -NWP region is to be seen. Pakistan would be losing some of their key mining and prospective Areas , it would be a tough line of approach for India.

No one said India targeted Pakistan Nuclear Sites.

Agony is abated !

'Our Pilots are Back Home'

That was enough for a sensible journalist and sensible Nation to understand the picture, when a combat operation is not yet over.

Sashi Tharoor, the Congress MP had said, situations are not the same as in 1971.

In an undeclared war, normally fighter Aircrafts do not cross the airspaces. With Beyond visual Range Missiles and other projectiles, the strategy changes. To save other assets, a suicidal take for the aircraft is the wisdom of the pilot. Microsecond manoeuvres will not wait for command-and-control centre orders. Fire and eject. Purpose of a fighter pilot is done.

A fighter Pilots life is more costly than the aircraft, that too of the first generation brought out from abroad. India is one among the few Countries having facilities for Fighter pilot training. After ejecting, sometimes the pilot will have injuries that forbids them to be back on active service, but can be good for transport and other duties.

Why our countrymen become our own enemies is a big question. Are we more into commercial values than Indian Values?

Morale of the flying officers are important. If a fighter aircraft is lost, usually all pilots of the station are to take a sortie. They will discuss on the technical failures, but will not cry over the loss of colleagues.

The agony of the Journos is abated.

Too much of Publicizing on indigenous Drones harmful to the National interest- should stop such demos on Social media and other platforms.

WHAT IS the CPI M Stand on Arunachal Pradesh?

While China continues reiterate their claims , CPI M , has to come up with their stand on Arunachal Pradesh. So far CPI M has not countered the claims of their Chinese Ally on Arunachal.

Ministries of Home Affairs, External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs need to look at the matters especially in the wake of strong stand taken by China supporting Pakistan. China took Operation Sindoor as a threat on the Sovereignty of Pakistan, contrary to the position of India on Terrorism. China in a way was legitimising Terrorism as the State policy of Pakistan blatantly ignoring the infliction caused to India.

The stand of the CPI M and its handles resorting to a campaign against war during operation Sindoor and some corners taking sides with the diplomatic stand of Man Mohan Singh after Bombay Terror at the time of a War like situation is a matter of concern.

The report Published by The Hindu News Paper on 4th April 2025 ascertains the relationship between Communist Party of China and The Marxist Party in India. The report quoted message of the international Department of CPC: to its counterpart at the recently held Madurai Conclave:-

" The CPC and the CPI(M) have long maintained friendly exchanges, which played a significant role for facilitating mutual understanding and practical cooperation between our two sides,”

Further, from the message of CPC, the daily had also quoted

"The CPC and the CPI(M) have long maintained friendly exchanges, which has played a significant role for facilitating mutual understanding and practical cooperation between our two sides,” .

Communist Party of India had already made its entry in Arunachal Pradesh. Comintern influence in the Kashmir situation and over the Political leadership of India is a subject that non centrist and leftist political parties never paid attention to. It has costed India much and the country failed to develop a socio-political character and identify of its own.

The borders remain unresolved. Often it has been cited that the Indo Tibetan borders from Diphu Trijunction to Pamir Rangers remains unresolved. Pakistan was created erratically in a disarray in the west and East. The Boundary With East Pakistan and Lushai Hills of Assam , the Mizoram State of today also were not settled. If the Provisional Government of India had taken note, a large part of Chittagong Hill tracts that were the homeland of Kuki - Zomi people would have been a part of India. Alienation of Kukis and the protracted Kuki - Naga Conflicts and Meiti - Kuki Conflicts could not have happened.

New Delhi did not take the views of the Hill people before a Joint Secretary of the MEA signed the Indo - Burma Border Agreement in 1967. The agreement is a big blunder, as it left Kabaw Valley tga was on lease by the British from Manipur King like that of Gilgit Region of Kashmir. Strangely enough, the Power of the Great Konyak Ang that extends to over 72 Villages in Burma then was not considered, even his kitchen was divided between India and Burma.

Even today, administrative system of New Delhi is busy with its own affairs. What is brewing in the country is ignored. The media became uprooted with the investments and payment modules. Political parties are at will to operate at their own will.

It is time for New Delhi to wake up. The blanket of comfort is getting chewed by the rats and mites at the cost of the might of the country.

In 2008, When Man Mohan Singh, the PM was to Visit Arunachal Pradesh, China raised objections. At that time Murali Manohar Joshi had asked CPI M to clarify their stand on Arunachal Pradesh. So far, rest of all political parties, never raised this question, even when they rally together against BJP

Diagnosis of a Nuclear Implosion

Generated Earthquake :

It cannot be wrong. . 750 Meters. Below,  the shockwaves reflected and radiated from 50 km down. Kirana was Hit , more than Hit.

But When IAF states , India did not Hit, duly responding to the Stand of our armed forces, the note on 10th was deleted.

However, within hours, Pakistan Prime Minister summoned the Nuclear Command . It was wrongly perceived as signal for nuclear escalation. Pakistan Army has already launched a Ballistic Missile which was shot down before it could enter the Air space of NCTR.

No one in the world who knew about  the operation of Pakistan Army can never think of their Army taking permission from the political system for any operation. History of the use atomic weapon tells that no written permission will be issued for its use. However, Satellite Data, intelligence inputs, surveillance systems and other mechanism will provide information to react.

The Journalists of the country has to be sure about what they address. Once a nuclear weapon is loaded and launched, either through Bombers, immediate response is to destroy the runway of the airport or other alternative airports.

India is a responsible country. India will not strike a nuclear weapon on the surface loaded into a Bomber or in the process. The disaster and irreparable damages to the people is not acceptable for India upholds ethics and human values in war as well. The targeted strike on Airfields were Precautionary, preventive and Preemptive in self defence against any misadventure by Pakistan, not even letting them to think of using Nuclear Weapons.

Pakistan, despite their financial difficulties, had huge budget allocation for the expansion of Uranium enrichment programmes. The shift to China was the option after US imposed Sanctions. Beyond doubt , Pakistan had made massive illegal transactions and purchases including theft of designs by None other than their Nuclear Man, Dr.Khan. further, apprehensions were looming high about arrangements with Saudi Arabia and Libiya. Concerns were raised from several quarters with the new plans at Mianwalli and National Fuel Enrichment Plant was a composite structure covering all areas of Nuclear Technology. The similarity in design with North Korean Enrichment Plants cannot be taken as coincidence . The Foreign Exchange in the budgetary component told a different story. The investors were direct or indirect beneficiaries that led to the successful completion of Reactors in Kundian and Chashma .

Operation Sindoor, in the wee hours 10 May, was a face savier for Pakistan that for the US intervention to end the relentless retaliation by India that crippled the Pakistan Army . US and China were loosing their assets and they knew it well that their investments and assets were in trouble. Their Defence Market will be badly affected incurring losses forca long term period.

India initially suffered setbacks from the adverse campaign unleashed by foreign media. Even it rattled the French for a couple of days. Operation Sindoor is a pointer to the need of a new Strategy on International Order. China Media Group is quite active in the propaganda war for their assertiveness, It did some initial damages. Some of the Media Houses in India too fell into their trap and raised questions on the achievements of the operation. Pakistani influence in a large section of the Media became visible, the worst case when a call was made to ascertain the location INS Vikrant. A new policy framework is the immediate need.

Certain Organisations are to remain quiet on their role in Military Operations.

Was it not a mistake of ISRO to stake claim?

19th May 2025:

ISRO Chairman made a statement that could have bearing on the security concerns for the organisation. The world knows, but once claims and stakes are made , it would be inviting undesirable consequences.

Head of Institutions and establishments should be restricted from making claims and stakes on Operations Sindoor. Only Designated personnel alone to be allowed.

Jugular Vein  Theory of Jinnah & the Northeast.

The Government should have switched into immediate action after terror operatives from Bangladesh were found to be involved in the Murshidabad Violence and destruction of National Properties.

Very soon, two loud calls came from the West and the East, both were repetition of  the demand of Jinnah in 1946 .

Pakistan Army Chief reiterated the Jugular Vein Theory and the Mohammed Yunus administration on inclusion of  Assam to Pakistan as proposed by Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Some of Our mainstream media went on to the extent of mooting the idea that ' Lahore is the Jugular Vein of Pakistan '. No one either in the Ministries of External Affairs or I &B found it necessary to correct the facts.

India adopted a very bad practice that people should not be made aware of adverse movements and campaigns against India. Information and news were what New Delhi and state capitals send across. There was no reverse flow of information. Most news on clashes and conflicts, communal revolts instigated by the adversaries were suppressed or were made insignificant.

National integration is not talking sweet about the Political Government of New Delhi and appeasement of minorities\

Nehru knew it well that Jinnah had claimed all of Assam, including the Hill Areas. Bengali Dominance of Tripura was taken up as a ground for the Kingdom of Tripura to follow the suit of Hyderabad and Junagadh. Between 1920 and 1940 the migration from East Bengal to Assam crossed all limits and the intensity became so high to outnumber the Hindu population in many areas. Jinnah claimed that the tribes of Assam have no Religion.  The Hill tribes together with the Muslim population had drawn  the Hindus into a demographic minority. Jinnah had included in his Green Map the entire Northeast comprising of Manipur, Naga Hills, Mikir Hills, North Cachar, Khasi- Garo and Jaiantia Hills, Abor- Miri- Mishmi-Dibang valley, Lushai Hills and other areas of Balipara and Sibsagar Frontier tract areas, Gopinath Bordoloi had to shed tears before Gandhiji to take up the matters with Viceroy and to retain Assam and hill areas including Manipur Kingdom with India. However, the referendum on Sylhet is the most tragic development in the Eastern corridor. Except a total tally of votes no records were available in the Archives of Assam State or New Delhi. Chicken neck of Silguri often draws national attention, however, the chicken neck of Karimganj the only strip connecting Tripura with Assam and the mainland  never attracted national attention. Along with Sylhet, Karimganj also was mapped out with East Pakistan. Again, Bordoloi intervened and Nehru understood the situation. Yet, confusion prevailed in Karimganj on the 14th of August 1947, unfurling the Pakistan Flag. A clarification came from Delhi after three days and on 17th August Pakistan flag was brought down and the National flag of India was unfurled.

Transfer of Dehargram Angarpota enclaves and Berubari Union No.12 did not get much national attention. How far a national consensus could agree to abide by the 1958 Nehru-Noon Agreement and the  the 1971 Surrender treaty is not clear. Did Assam and West Bengal Assembles take up the matter in the wake of issues relating to large scale migration that remained unsettled? The Boundary Agreement between Mujib Ur Rahman and Indira Gandhi on 16th May 1974 should have been cancelled after the Military Coup on 15 August 1975, that too, on the Independence Day of India was not read as a straight message of Pro Pakistani Military vestiges in Bangladesh. Justice Abu Sayeed Choudhary was not an insignificant personality for Indira Gandhi to ignore. What he said exactly happened. Indira acted too fast. She was in a hurry, the cost of which India will have to pay in the near future.

Though Bangladesh have been liberated, West Pakistan continued to undermine India in the eastern theatre. Indira Gandhi had bartered Kashmir and Sikh Religious centres in Pakistan for the release of Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman. Military coup against the founding father of Bangladesh and his killing was a failure of the Neighbourhood Intelligence Network and the hold over the affairs of the political Environment of the Indian Subcontinent

It is time for India to clear from the mess created by the ego of Nehru in the Northeast and Kashmir which was further infuriated by successive governments. Intelligence machinery works on a philosophy inculcated by mainstream India. Advice of Gen. Thimmayya who was then a Brigadier in the Eastern Command was not heard. The Region needed a strong political resolve and determination to come out of the conventional notions and standards set by the narratives of that illiterate officialdom on the ground realities. More divisions and factions were created and the dangerous miscalculation that is likely to happen would become too dear and costly for the country. Enough mistakes have been done. North Block has to differentiate between the phraseology of “Insurgency” that entered the British records following the East India Company operations after the Kuki Tribes captured the Chittagong port in 1777. Nearly 13000 square Km of Chittagong Hill Tracts belongs to the Kuki Chin Mizo Group that remained independent till the annexation by the British in 1860 and were granted special status in 1903. Kukis were brought to Cachar and were given arms and ammunition as barriers between Nagas and British Subjects. The same policy was adopted in Manipur as well. Exclusion of Kabaw Valley, CHT Areas Kuki-Zo groups and Tribal Areas of  Khyoungtha and the Toungtha Tribal in 1947 and 1974 were the political mistakes of India.

Kukis became organized as a political and armed force by 1980 with the formation of Kuki National Front and later Kuki National Army. It is not a secret that the Government of Manipur had funded them. If at all available now, the Receipts of the payment of One lac Rupees by the Chief Minister of Manipur, Raj Kumar Dorendra Singh himself must be in the records along with another receipt for Two Lacs dated 02 August 1992.

Also, there were reports on a demand for Rs. 7 Cr. by the KNO for their self defence purposes. Today, it would be most unfortunate for the Government of India to treat Kukis or any armed group as terrorists in the Region.

The Tribes that enjoyed protection and security cannot be let to enter into Triangular Conflict with other tribes, Bangladesh forces and with the Indian Army.

The political solution is at the fingertips. It takes only two weeks of serious negotiations to resolve the issues of the Region and to achieve socio-political stability.

The compromises and settlements were made later between ZA Bhutto and Indira Gandhi for the release of Mujib ur Rahman  so that the newly formed Bangladesh would  have a  central political figure, costed India in a multitude of ways.. It was with this resolve and to strengthen the hands of Mujib ur Rahman that the 1974 border agreement was signed.

When Bangladesh falls under a civil unrest and eliminates everything that reminds of the founder of the Country Mujib ur Rahman, India has every right to rescind from all agreements and treaties and awards of Partition.

An armed conflict with Pakistan should essentially mean that, India is at own will to change the political considerations of 1947. It should have bearing on the political configuration of both Pakistan and Bangladesh.

It all depends on the line that will be adopted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues Amit Shah , Rajnath Singh and Dr. S Jaisankar . A new turn of events in the Politics of Northeast will be a a determining factor in the political stability of the Indian Subcontinent and the South east Asia. It will silence the mouth of Pro Pakistan - Pro CCP proactive elements in the region to draw a new Political contour.

The mistake of creating an arms race with another splinter country of India would be too costly.

When any Country attacks India directly or indirectly, all bilateral treaties and agreements should become instantaneously Null and Void.

Post War Diagnosis…

After every war, the strategic designs, combat preparedness, lapses and gaps in technologies become a matter of main concern for the armed forces.

UAVs and drones are dirty irritants used in a war to create intolerance, waste of  Air defence fire power, inflicting damages to the personnel and equipment. Air combat with fighter Aircrafts , bombers and missile systems became secondary line of operations. Russia- Ukraine War, Israel- Hamas and Houthi - US conflicts have changed the war strategies.

Wherever human shield is used as a self-defence and a mechanism to impose restrictions on the offense, targeted war becomes lopsided and there striking with eyes  closed to the civilian losses and damages become the only way.

What Israel has resorted to Gaza is such a closed eye strike, forcing Hamas to come out of the human shield to the open. The concerns of Genocides and losses to civilian population will not be heeded to, as long as the other side gets the ground support. Ukraine, knows it well that the country is becoming a liability to itself through the War now crossing 12 years. It is more prolonged than Iran - Iraq war that lasted 8 years.

Exposing a technology in a short and inconclusive military action is a disaster. It may create some unexpected twists and turns in the Defence Market , but the big powers supporting the conflicting sides will have a lot of work to do. China and US will have to invest heavily on their technological discrepancies inflicted by the deep penetration strikes of India inside Pakistan.

The question is not on how many RADAR systems, aircrafts were lost or on the UAVS that could not undertake the tasks. The numbers are meaningless, one failure in any of the supporting and operating systems will prove to be disastrous for the manufacturing country.

The sudden adulation on indigenous Aircraft Combat Systems and Missiles have gone to the extent of disclosing Satellites in  the precision guidance operation  is too bad for the country. India has to make huge investments in upgrading the technologies, inventing new applications and process, revamping the communication and integrated systems revamping the whole architecture of Hardware and software and so on.

It requires huge investments towards expansion of facilities and human resources in R&D, training and operations. It is high time for the Narendra Modi Government to think of a Defence Institute of Engineering and Technology after NDA training and induction into the Services. School and college level talent identification by inviting ideas and new thought process has to be a regular process. Albert Einstein or Srinivasa Ramanujan were not Gold medallists or rank holders. No merit and rank holders could come up with innovative technologies. They are good masons and service classes. Why our IITians are queuing up for MBA courses around IIMs is the answer. We faced brain drain.

I965 and 1971 war made random changes in our political philosophy of strategic considerations. Immediately after the war of 1971, India felt the need of medium range Field Howitzer, with a firing range of 40 kms. As the selection process was on, the middlemen brought a story that Pakistan had acquired Fire Finding Radars. There was a change in the requirement. Maximum fire power, Rounds per Minute with Shoot and Scoot capability became the need. The conflict between General Mayadas and CoAS Gen. Krishnaswami Sunderji keeping apart, the best about AB Bofors was the effectiveness of dispersal or distribution in the combined impact, fatigue factor and easy to learn and operate even in the battlefield training within the shortest time of nearly five minutes. Preparedness for Aerial combat and India's entry into indigenous design , development and production of missile Technology was the second major change. In little over 40 years, India could steer  strike domination in Operation Sindoor . Now , it is the time for new systemic design and development out from the eyes of the world. We need to work hard a lot.

However, the kind of Confidentiality and Secrecy that Private partners have to maintain including the conduct of personnel has to be a matter of major concern. Some of them staking claims and narratives on the role in combat operations through social media need to be addressed. The technical and other personnel working in the Private sectors of Defence Production switching over  to new pastures for better pay packages and positions will be too damaging. Some can even walk away with the blue prints and  join a better payer.

Can India Develop her own New Gen Aircrafts?

Answer is a big " YeS".

Where is India lagging behind?

The country will have to draw a striking difference between innovative approach and Restrictive limitations. India has a majority of scientific faculty capable of  developing  ideas based on certain notions or development happening elsewhere, giving a fresh or nascent approach and finally concluding far below the success rate of the country of the original idea.

The question is on our National Planning which  did not give adequate  impetus to the R&D sector so as to develop futuristic technologies and applications, instead of limiting  and confining adaptations with modifications.

It is the right time to change the entire spectrum from the grassroots. Academic system of the Country has to be revamped.

By 2030, India has to revamp the educational system and the Scientific Research. Basic education on fundamental Sciences has to be limited based on the need for academic and non applicational needs like teaching and information dissemination . At the University level teaching faculty and Research faculty will have to be separated. Research faculties should be appointed for the Term of Doctoral programme, of maximum four  or more years. Only one batch should be permitted under one Guide. Such guides should be Emeritus Professors or  retired scientists of proven track record.

A major blockade in of our academic Research is that, the Head of the department or associates when they become guides, will select topics from their own line of research. This  acts as psychological and practical barrier to any nascent and novel ideas, the new Doctorate degree holders will turn out to be stereotypes. They will have a series of publications in both National and international Journals to convince any interview panel for their selection for the jobs.

Union Ministry of Human Resources should have made a systemic change by 1980s. It cannot happen and will not happen in India, only for the reason that educational reforms are recommended by committees with mundane and outdated thinking that is of  British morality and influenced by colonial idea of education. They live in a world of their golden days of the pride of academics from some or the other foreign Universities. Political parties have their intellectuals who can convince the country and make the heads of the population nod with excitement.

National Planning has to be integrated with Population growth. Did India had a projection of population growth in the next 50 years and a corresponding planned infrastructure development ?  Where will the new born in the 45th year of the projection start learning? Will they find a position in the planned economic growth or diversification?

The same question was in our minds after we passed Graduation in 1970s. The country looked like an Ocean in a turbulent cyclonic weather. Practically stuck. We have been hearing about Development and poverty alleviation from that period. Could it happen?

The Government introduced Minimum support price, as it could not envisage an appropriate plan for commercialising Agricultural sector and in creating an assured open market. Farmers are deprived of the benefits of market driven price hikes and value addition. The farmers were left insecure but the government was concerned with food Security. Suicide of the farmers were not read in contrast with the Green Revolution.  A good part of the agricultural lands slowly fell in the hands of Real Estate sector. Continuous subsoil irrigation led to soil decay and acidosis. The fertile farm land along the Gangetic basin slowly turned to wasteland. On the other side, theoretical approaches could not do much to utilise barren lands. Horticultural mission could not  create an economic boom in the areas where agriculture could not be rendered feasible.

A host of programmes for Poverty alleviation , Development of Women and Children, public Health, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Cooperation, Hill Area Development, Tribal Sub Plan, Antyodaya, BPL- APL stratification , APEDA, CAPART, Export Development Fund, Food for Work Program... Not to talk about Green, White and Blue Revolution, Food Processing , Backward Area Development Programme...Horticulture Mission. ... Finally what happened?

A new innovation came. NREGS...  later renamed MNREGS. In 2005.. Better to say,  the Political system of the country accepted failure of 9 Plan periods! Yet the planning Commission of India, the Ministries of finance and other collaborating ministries did not wake up. Finally in 2017 the Planning  Commission  took its last breath.

The orientation of a society is reflected through the basic education that inbreeds faculties that emerge in the next quarter of the century. Every year, the population that is added is contributing to the country produces the brains and muscles in the  25th year.

Thus 2025 is the year of those born in 2000. The question is where are those ? They have voted minimum two times to elect their government. But does the Government know what they are doing? What is their livelihood? Are they placed well and disposed of with responsibilities and adequate income?

India should have emerged as a Welfare State of happy People. Instead, political system gave credence to sloganeering and on unrealistic ideals. Secularism, fight against Hindutva and finally ended with separatism , communal tensions, riots and Terrorism. In 1960s , the Ministry of Home Affairs had information that Pakistan was supplying arms to villages along the borders. What action did the country take?

At the time of a war, these questions become pronounced, when  the country, faces a political mess trying to prove  that the Government is wrong while ending the offensive and retaliatory measures of Operation Sindoor. Indeed, the Country has to be grateful to the Motion in Rajya Sabha regarding Chinese Incursion brought by BKP Sinha , well nearly a year ahead of Chinese invasion. The reply of the Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru was exposed the failure of what the Congress had conceived of " India as State". It would be a big question how Under such a Prime Minister India could be united. It is obvious that there could be ideological clashes between Sardar Patel and Nehru, and everything would not have been smooth.

It is where matters went wrong. India remained as a country without settled boundaries with In the North and East. When Reference was made on Diphu Trijunction in a motion, the Prime Minister asked which One??? Indeed, in the original boundary with Burma, there was no common junction with Tibet or China, India and East Pakistan of the kind.

In every aspect, the country had gone through political lapses.

Never heard the term " Economic Diversification" from the policy makers of the country. The reason is the disoriented R&D and Academic Culture.

The country needs politically seasoned minds with adequate knowledge and vision on current and futuristic policies.

We need to have a dynamic change in the overall system of public Management... Planning begins with the methodology for Public Management. It is not about how to generate more revenues and where money has to be spent...

Operation Sindoor should create a new sense of technological development and growth for the country. It requires all the contributing moieties to be well structured and in a proper order. The new dynamics of growth initiatives would ensure that The White House. They have to develop a new Air Defence System- Golden Shield.

India has to read the unwritten message carefully

Security of India Paramount.

Bangladesh or Pakistan, the drop outs of  Independent India should be stopped from upscaling their Strike capabilities beyond a limit.

India has been doing wrong, right from the beginning. October War of 1947 was the time India could have fixed a threshold level of Strike capabilities of the theocentric state. Exporting Thorium Nitrate to China , not defending Gilgit, Hunza and Chithral, leaving the old cart route linking Sinkiang with NWP were terrible mistakes. Forcing India to sell the whole bulk of Thorium Nitrate to US was a policy to keep Communist China away from the nuclear capabilities. On the other hand, India swiftly handed over Gilgit and NWP to Pakistan. So as to enable United Kingdom to keep track of the nuclear developments of Communist Russia.

Chinese incursions into India were underplayed by Nehru. He went on tabling a series of white papers on the incursions, claiming the matters were limited only on certain military posts. While China was making boarder roads along with Aksai Chin, he chose to wait for nearly three months for a reply from his counterpart in Peking. Finally, the statement came from the Prime Minister that they were developing old cart road that were existing for centuries.

The debate in the Rajya Sabha on 06 December 1961 has to be kept in mind by every political leader of the country.

Should Narendra Modi Government follow the Congress Traditions?

Sonia Gandhi had not stepped into the political affairs of the Country then. No need to think about Rahul Gandhi who was not born then . But the Octogenarian Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress President would have a fair memory of the developments then. He could have advised the Congress leader on the precedence on Chinese incursions from the time of Nehru and down the time line. The exhaustive library facilities in the National Herald buildings have been lost , but there are quite a few old newspapers and records in the Nehru Memorial Library, Parliament library ad National Archives available for references including declassified documents. For the AICC advisory to figure out the realities.

Before the Congress leadership embarks on the Postmortem of Operation Sindoor in the next session of Parliament, the party has to take note of what happened to the call of Indira Gandhi to exterminate the Pakistan Army in 1971, and the point from where she deviated from the goal. Before they go further, it would be ideal for them to look at how Jawaharlal Nehru treated the Chinese incursions a year before the war began in 1962.

When the Congress leaders demand for a special session of the Parliament, the note by Dayabhai Patel in Rajya Sabha during a discussion on Chinese incursions may peep up from the folders. On the a series of white papers Nehru had tabled in the parliament on Chinese incursions, Dayabhai Patel raised his eyebrows while asking - which white paper and what it tells cannot be said!

On 06 December 1961, Braja Kishore Sinha called the attention of the Rajya Sabha on the Chinese incursions into the Indian Territory.

A sizeable area of our territories was lost to China within a decade, starting with 12,000 square miles in 1956 that led to several changes in the international borders between 1959 and 1961. Attack on Assam Rifles post in Lingju of NEFA-Bhutan Border.in 1950 was not taken up seriously. Lingju was taken over by China and Assam riffles had to withdraw. For the First time, Guns had sounded in the India China Border,

Nehru took the stand that the Lingju confrontation as a creation of those who stood for the liberation of Tibet. The Government of India had hidden the information from the people on the Chinese taking away 12000 square miles.

The question was raised by Pandit Hridyanathh Kurzu in November 1961 on the area taken away by the Chinese, then, the Prime Minister holding the Ministry of External Affairs had stated that :

"The exact area is the area of the post. There is no other area. They sit on a post. Now the influence of that post round about is not occupation, but its influence. They do not occupy any other territory, actual occupation. It is just that post, whatever it may be, a few hundred yards or so, but actually a post has certain influence round about. How far round about depends upon many circumstances. It is not occupation; any other area is not occupied."

On the motion of 06 December 1961, on a motion over the Chinese incursions Rajya Sabha the Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru replied:

“… So the point we have been considering is what has appeared in the course of the last year—that is a narrow issue—and if you like in that connection, what our broad policies are. I stated that what has happened in the course of the last year on the Chinese side was, so far as we knew, that three check-posts or military posts had been established. We cannot give the exact date; it is not possible. We can only say that it was not there on one day and later it was there on some other day when our reconnaissance party went there. Or, in other words, we got to know about it then. We heard about it in September—in the 'beginning or middle of September. And so, we mentioned these three posts—one, rather in the north, not far from the Karakoram and not far from an important post that we have— a long name, I forget it at the moment—and their post is on the Chipchop River about fifteen miles to east of our post and two posts in the southern region of northern Ladakh which we mentioned and which we said were round about the international frontier.”.

BJP and the Present Government should have drawn the attention of the country on the stand of Nehru on developing our Border Areas . Is there any change in the terrain conditions and climate now, that made the Narendra Modi Government proceed with the Border area development?

If not, the Government and the political parties should look at what Jawahar Lal Nehru had said then:

“….Now, one word about building of roads. An hon. Member has asked why they have built thousands of miles of roads on their side and we have not done so still. The broad answer to that question is that the terrain they have to pass through is far easier to build roads on than the terrain we have on our side. That is to say, there are broad plateaus, ups and downs. Road-making in Tibet, apart from the high mountains that come in, is merely pulling out trees and levelling and nothing else, no application of anything, because the moment it is levelled it is a road. Owing to extreme winter the ground is so hard that nothing more is done. We have ourselves built one airfield at least in these high regions in Ladakh which cost us at that time, I do not know, exactly Rs. 400. Practically nothing. It meant really sweeping the place and removing little boulders and stones and pulling out shrubs and it became an airfield, not a first class one but good enough for use. So that road-making on the other side has been a very much simpler undertaking. Then on our side we have to cross high mountain peaks, passes, up and down precipices. Hon. Members who have cared to see the photographs of some places— even the Himachal Pradesh roads that are being built— will realize the extremely hazardous nature of this road-making. That is one reason. I think we have proceeded fairly well with road making in these mountains. The real difficulty has been that we have to take everything—I mean every machine, every screw has to be taken by air and that led, naturally, to our trying to acquire bigger transport planes, big ones to carry these things. We did that and matters have been progressing fairly well and I can assure Dr. Kunzru that it is not in an attempt to save a few crores of rupees that we have allowed, or we are going to allow, this to suffer.”

Who gave such an advise to the Prime Minister then on the procurement of weapons is not clear. Yet, the way Nehru ceded to the advise and his long term plan of developing infrastructure like steel production for defence production through the five year plan was setting a bad precedent.

"Anyhow, the basic thing for defence is the Plans. All these Five Year Plans are basic for the defence of India. People seem to think that the Five Year Plans are something isolated from the defence of India. Some people in the other place said, "Oh, scrap the Five Year Plans and go in our defence" which showed how little understanding there is as to what is required for defence. All this is required— may be some odd thing or may not be—but whether we want an iron and steel factory, it is essential for defence. All that defence -wants is steel. So, in building up defence, in building up the strength of India for protecting the security of India, building up this industrial apparatus is highly important. We may give a twist to the industrial apparatus so as to build more of defence. That is another matter. But essentially the things are common whether It is defence, or whether it is any kind of civil advance. So, as I said, in considering the position as it is, arising during the last year this has happened to the best of our know ledge and we consider it as a serious matter, not merely as an intention or intent but as something that has been done-“

Nehru Chose to spin the matters to another angle. His usual manner of exhibiting his vision on the global security and safety:

“The major problem before us now is whether in the course of two, three, four or five years there is going to be a nuclear war or not. That is the big problem of a war which will destroy everything, which will affect every country, including India, even though we may not be joining any war. And so we have to see this problem in this context, because when we see it in that context, it does make a difference, what China can do to us and what we can do to China. In spite of some people thinking that we are isolated in the world—we may be isolated from the point of view of non-alignment and not being a party to some military alliance—there are other ways of contact, close contacts and close friendships. And apart from any such ways, there are reactions. Is it imaginable that a war between India and China will remain confined to these two countries? It will be a world war and nothing but a world war. I am not saying that it need necessarily be a war between India and China. Other steps can be taken and may have some effect. But we have to think of every aspect, of every possible development and prepare for it, and avoid developments which may be very harmful not only to us but to the world.”

From the phobia created over a War that can take matters beyond assumable proportions, Nehru switched on the fallacies of a waging War with China:

"…I hope, Sir, that the House will agree with this assertion of our position, that this aggression has taken place on our territory and we must do everything in our power to get that aggression vacated. We must try to use every diplomatic and all peaceful devices to that end, whatever they may be, that is to say, avoid war to that purpose, because war between India and China would be one of the major disasters of the world, for us and for the world, for it will mean world war. It will mean war which will be indefinite. We would not be able to limit it in time, because it will not be possible for China to defeat us and it will be impossible for us to march up to Peking across Tibet. These things are not done. Things function differently and for us to jump into such things would be the reverse of wisdom. If it is to be done, if it is forced upon us, it is a different matter. Therefore, we should be prepared and prepare as fast as we can and in the best way we can, keeping in view always the larger situation in the world and how it is developing and how that is affecting our own problems in India”...

Today, unfortunately, BJP do not have any senior members in the Parliament with candid memory of that time, who by now are in their 90s. LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi have been given retirement. It is not certain that PMO has a memorizer division, that brings relevant political considerations to the PM for a critical analysis and interpretation.

What message Kerala is sending across?

Whatever the explanations and excuses may be,  the CUSAT Alumni Association of UAE, by way inviting Pakistani Cricket team cannot escape from a criticism that  they have openly showed support to the Terrorist operation of Pakistan against India .

A couple of days back, the Prime Minister of Pakistan  had clearly spelt India as their "Enemy Country". After that, India or Indians anywhere in the world  cannot and should not accept or recognise artists or professionals of that country.

At the time of military initiative against ,it would be  violative of the national interest and against the military and political interests of the country.

India had sent a delegation to UAE a week before to explain on the Pahalgam Terror attack and the counter measure of  Operation Sindoor. Immediately after that, the Act of CUSAT Alumni Association is a matter of serious concern to the National Security and integrity of India.

Moreover, CUSAT has an MTech Degree Program in Defence Technology., which covers battlefield Communication System, RADAR and Electronic Warfare. While Military Action against Pakistan is not yet concluded, the CUSAT pass-outs interacting with Pakistan Cricketers, who spoke strongly against India cannot be taken in a casual manner or in light vein.

Considering the stature of DRDO in such programs it is certainly far beyond all normal considerations.

28 Earthquakes?

And One Jolts Kalabagh Region

Apart from apprehensions over the earthquakes happening in the Cantonment and Defence Housing Authority Areas of Karachi, these earthquakes along the fault lines of Sindh raises a concern for the Himalayan Collision Zone.

After 2005 episode of a swarm of earthquakes jolting Karachi, during the past 6 days, the port city was again hit by a wave of earthquakes.

India should not ignore the swarm of earthquakes and will have to look into the seismological aspects. After the heavy rains and floods in the Northern Region of Pakistan during the first week of May, the possibility of a change in the sedimentation pattern of the Indus Canyon is quite possible. Swarm of earthquakes occurred in 2005 after the heavy floods along the tributaries of River Indus in the same northern region.

The sedimentation of Indus Canyon is known to have a great impact in the seismic activities of the Nagar Parker and Allah Bandh Fault Lines. Whether our Ministries of Earth Sciences, Environment and Forests have looked into the deformations after the Kutch earthquake of 2001 is not certain. Have the Ministries issued any specific directions to ISRO to utilise Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar studies in the Saurashtra - Sindh- belt to create a time lapse imagery is yet to be known.

India needs to have more infrastructure in the region for the deformation studies and behaviour of the Indus Canyon . The Canyon, though do not fall within the territorial waters of India, it has a great bearing on the stability of the Zone V seismic region. We have not correlated major earthquake with Canyon as there were no noticeable occurrences of Tsunamis due to sedimentation behaviour. However, cannot be ruled out in the near future.

Periodic Return Maps can remain as imaginary seismic landscapes. A clear understanding on the Geothermal Interference patterns with deformation studies may be able to develop some inferences and  insights into probable massive Jolts.

The last earthquake in Kalabagh in the early hours of 7th June , is within the Perimeters of the Chilas Airbase.

When we talk about Chilas Air Base , the question is on the sense of belonging to India’s own territories run over by Pakistan and the historical background.

Immediately after the 1917 communist Revolution in Russia, Great Britain made all out efforts to ensure that Communism do not penetrate into their Territory of India. Lenin was opposed to the imperialistic regime and called Great Britain as “Plunderers and extortionists”. He addressed the Indians to rise and revolt against the British. The Ruler of Afghanistan, after declaring independence, got in touch with the Soviet Communist leader. These developments made Great Britain uneasy, Further, Maharaja Pratap Singh of Kashmir ordered a ban on the formation of new organisations and associations to check the communist ideals and Bolshevik expansion threat to his borders.

After Hari Singh took over the reins, situations were not that easy for the British, Maharaja was convinced about the situation that needed an airstrip in the Gilgit region. The Planning for the airbase at Chilas, near Kalabagh of the present day was initiated by Delhi by 1927. Chilas was located nearly 7 kms from the bridge across Gilgit River. The British Government of India sought clearance from the Maharaja. He was made to understand that the air strip is needed for the security of his territory and the whole costs will be incurred by the Government of India.

The same Chilas Airbase went into the hands of Pakistan and became a threat to the security of India.

The question is why from 9th May 2025 onwards; the Airforce base regions of Pakistan is experiencing earthquakes and mild Tremors?

03 June 2025, Swarm of earthquakes Hot Karachi-

At 1.20 am, 3.4 M Earth quake hit Defence Housing Authority Area, which was followed by a 2.5 M at 8.20 am and of the same intensity again at 8.42 am.

In between, another earthquake of 3.2 M hit Korangi region of Karachi. Last of the swarm so far occurred is reported to be near the Cantonment Area of Malir at 12.21 pm.

How far these Earthquakes , with those in the previous days have affected the sediments of the Indus Canyon is to be looked into. Will it have some bearing on the Kutch of India? On the 2nd of  June 2025, 11. 34 am another earthquake of 3.2 M jolts Quaidabad area of Karachi. Vighakot, is likely to draw attention in the coming decades, anticipate a reversal of 1819 shake up.

Following the withdrawal of India from the Indus  Water Treaty, the drying up of the river will have its own impact?

01 June 2025 , 3.6 M earthquake hits Quaidabad Karachi at 6.02 pm...

Nagar Parkar Fault line that separates Sindh and Kutch will have its bearing. Karachi has no history of earth quakes in the recent times; Tremors were felt here during the 2001Gujarat Earthquake.

Between July and October 2005, Karachi had experienced a series of earth quakes. These swarm of earthquakes were of short duration lasting for 4 to 10 seconds. There were no reports on the epicentre or intensity . A few repeated Tremors occurred in the Dow Medical College and Cantonment areas of Karachi.

The 2013 earthquake of Awaran in Baluchistan shook the entire area, down to Karachi . Tremors were felt in Delhi as well.

Sedimentation in the Indus River Canyon will be largely affected by the recent situations.

Next few years would be a wait and watch situation for the seismologists

Operational Casualties

In a massive operation, where three or more squadrons of various aircrafts are pressed into action, operational Casualties of Aircrafts are likely to happen.

Such operations, are beyond the normal training and practices, but emerge out of an instantaneous plan and design of combat strategies . Architecture of such a warfare involving more than one class of aircrafts becomes a necessity depending on the considerations of altitude variations, weaponry, neutralisation of enemy communication, fire power, and quite a lot of other considerations. Most crucial state is the safe return of the aircrafts after the operations, the time when the enemy is in advantage. Operational casualty to Aircrafts at this stage depends on the efficiency of the pilots, in minimising the overall damages . Pilots can venture into suicidal decisions to safeguard the other aircrafts at this instance. Yet, the planners of war strategy take it as a call to avert such instances. It needs a herculean exercise to recreate, simulate and reorient the squadrons lying scattered at different Airfields.

As a strong nation, India will not regret on such instances. Instead it will stimulate a new war strategy and philosophy, taking the parameters and conditions in the right perspective. Indian Airforce does not weep. They fly over the remains. And that is the preparedness. But if the political system, a section of the media and a few antiestablishment groups point a finger on our forces, it is for the Government and the people to handle.

However, depending on the nature of such suicidal decisions or manoeuvres, it may cost some aircrafts, But the enemy cannot claim that , they had hit or shot IAF aircrafts. That is only propaganda to bully their suppliers of arms and ammunition.

On the losses. One will have to remain with fingers crossed . No country in the world can dare to do such an act, it reflected the political will and the support of the Government to the Forces .

Till the IAF declares it on its own, no one can make any statement.

It would have mattered, if even a single aircraft was lost in the second operation during the intervening night of 9 and 10 May.

We have one of the finest Flying officers at the Senior Commissioned level who can take care of matters while in in action. They take decisions in microseconds. It was for sure that IAF would not take much time for combat preparedness after rectifying the operational casualty to redesign and mount a major offensive, especially at a time the enemy was bullying with Nuclear Threat.

The Media should stand corrected and should not succumb to the stories of western and pro US - China axis.
